The Odense Hospital center is a structure built with high qualitative and technological standards, able to provide an efficient response to healthcare needs. The project focuses on people and their relations, and integration with the surrounding environment. CMB has carried out the design phase, developed with BIM methodology, optimizing all the qualitative standards, from energy consumption to the aesthetic quality of the design project, to the comfort of the interiors. The structure also meets the need for flexibility of the environment over time, allowing for the possibility of modifications to the layout.
The hospital extends over an area of 80 hectares in a natural green context in the area south-west of the city of Odense, near the University of Southern Denmark. CMB is project-leader in a joint venture with Itinera, a company specializing in large-scale projects in the Gavio group with a stake of 49%. The development of the project was implemented in BIM, which will ensure an increase in productivity and precision.
The hospital complex is the most extensive in Denmark, to be completed in rapid time. It’s composed of six buildings arranged symmetrically with respect to the central body, which functions as a backbone and links the University to the main entrance. The building’s bodies are four or five stories high for a total surface area of over 250 thousand sq.m. For the choice of materials, particular attention has been given to sustainability, so as to create an eco-sustainable building with minimal energy consumption.
The first stone of the Hospital of Odense in Denmark was laid during a ceremony held on 28 August 2019. During the event, the President of the Regional Council Stephanie Lose and the Minister of Health Magnus Heunicke, aided by two young patients, buried a box containing the expectations of the patients and doctors who will be moving from the old hospital to the future hospital of Odense.
In July 2019, on an area of 80 hectares in the south-east of the city of Odense, the first construction site machines began working on the new hospital. The hospital will blend in naturally with the landscape, including a connection with the tram system.
Signed in February 2018, the contract for the university hospital in Odense, 170 kilometres from the capital Copenhagen, provides for the construction of the first two lots of the hospital complex, including the diagnosis and treatment areas and a number of in-patient departments, adding up to a total of about 260,000 square metres. The total budget is more than 380 million euros.
CMB (with a stake of 51%) in a joint venture con Itinera, a company specializing in large-scale works in the Gavio group (with a stake of 49%), has been awarded two lots of the new Hospital Complex in the city of Odense in Denmark. The work is for the overall value of around 390 million euros commissioned by the “Region of Southern Denmark”.
The works involve the completion of two lots of the new Odense hospital, specifically, Admissions, with a surface area of 60 thousand sq.m., and the Hospitalization and Outpatients wards of around 100 sq.m.
