The world has changed since February 2020, and the scenario we’ve been faced with has been strongly impacted by the medical emergency that has swept our country off its feet. After almost two months of lockdown, manufacturing activities and constructions sites restarted from 4 May. CMB has reopened in Carpi, Milan and Rome, and work has restarted on its construction sites, gradually and in complete safety.

In a context of the construction sector, which shows signs of a recovery in investments in works and concessions in Italy, CMB has ambitious goals: 650 million euros in revenues in 2020, with an average annual growth of 7% and an order book of 3 billion, among the highest ever reached.

CMB Società Cooperativa Muratori e Braccianti di Carpi, as Leader Company of the Joint Venture with CSC Impresa Costruzioni SA, part of the Salini Impregilo Group, and Italiana Costruzioni SpA, signed the contract for the Renovation of the Historic Buildings at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, dating back to the Thirties. The amount of the work is around 270 million Swiss francs (about 245 million Euro).

On 31 July, after two days of audit for certification, CMB became the first Italian construction company to certify its BIM management system with ICMQ. CMB’s BIM system was introduced, with considerable foresight, in 2010, initially experimentally, then for the management of complex building sites.

In a scenario in the construction sector still affected by the economic crisis, the result of the CMB Group for the 2018 financial year is confirmed as positive, improving the margins set out in the Budget. Turnover stands at 512 million euros, with a profit of 4.4 million.

CMB has entered into a contract with Klépierre, leader at European level in the shopping centres sector, to carry out the restructuring work and extension of Shoppingville Gran Reno in Casalecchio di Reno in the province of Bologna. The work relates to the restructuring of the existing shopping arcade and the completion of a new important portion of retail spaces.
